This classic 4 mile (6.4km) Hyde Park running route is ideal if you’re central and want to escape the roads and traffic.
It’s one of eight Royal Parks, and although it starts up at the Italian Gardens near Lancaster Gate, being a circular route, you can start it anywhere around the park, and enjoy the trees, gardens and monuments as you run (or walk) around. You’ll actually cross between Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens during your run, with some famous landmarks to keep an eye out for being the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace and Speakers’ Corner.
There are toilets located at the Italian Gardens and close to the Serpentine Gallery (both have a charge), while the toilets at the Serpentine Lido are free to use. The park is open from 5am until 12am (midnight).
The whole of the route is on pavement, however, you can also run on the grass for most of it if you need a softer ground.
There are various versions of this run on Strava depending on where you are starting from.
